Construction is officially underway on a major detachment expansion aimed at improving services for the Lakeshore Regional Police Service in Driftpile.
Crews and heavy equipment have moved onto the site, marking the start of a project focused on delivering more effective, culturally responsive policing.
Despite the construction, the detachment remains open to the public.
Visitors are asked to continue using the main entrance and follow clearly marked pathways for safe access.
Parking is available along the roadside or at the nearby community hall by the splash park.
Officials are also reminding residents to use caution when driving near the site, noting that traffic fines in construction zones increased earlier this year.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the administrative office directly.
Community members are thanked for their patience as the expansion moves forward.
