The Battle River Agricultural Society has been awarded $10,000 after placing second in the Growing Home with BASF promotion.
According to officials, the funding will be used to improve accessibility at both the grounds and the hall.
The Battle River Agricultural Society, a cornerstone of the community since 1933, continues to bring people together through its events and facilities.
Best known for hosting Alberta’s oldest and largest annual amateur rodeo, the Manning rodeo weekend draws over a thousand spectators each year while giving local groups a chance to fundraise and get involved.
Beyond the rodeo grounds, the Society operates the area’s largest community hall, hosting everything from farmers markets to weddings and fundraisers.
Run by dedicated volunteers and local business owners, the aging facilities now face modernization challenges.
The Society is now gearing up for its 74th annual Manning Rodeo, scheduled to take place in July.
