Over 100 people were in attendance to a community meeting on Thursday regarding the future of L’Ecole Providence in McLennan.
Residents came by to get information and feedback on the school, where enrollment is down to critical levels.
The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division states many options are available for viability and sustainability of the facility.
Many topics were talked about, including enrollment, finance, the possibility of a closure, or reducing grades.
Some outcomes the Division is looking at is:
- Being a K-8 school (Currently)
- Being a K-6 school
- Being a K-3 school
- Closure
Further statements by municipalities, residents, and stakeholders have until mid-April to submit written letters, at which time decisions on the school will be made.
