The County of Northern Lights has cancelled the emergency alert for the Hawk Hills area, as the Slims Creek Fire near Twin Lakes and 30 km north of Manning has shown slow growth due to cooler temperatures and rain.
Efforts to contain the wildfire are ongoing.
Twin Lakes Provincial Recreation Area remains closed.
Residents are reminded that wildfire season is still active and should stay informed through the County’s website, Facebook page, the Alberta Wildfire Dashboard, and Alberta 511.
