Another La Crete product is going to be playing next season in the AJHL.
Nolan Cardinal has signed with the Whitecourt Wolverines.
The 16 year old forward spent most of this past season with the U18 La Crete Lumberjacks of the all-peace hockey league, scoring 27 goals with 23 assists for 50 points in only 19 games last season.
He did get some action as an AP (affiliate player) call-up for the Lumber Barons in the NWJHL.
With the Barons, Cardinal got 8 points in 6 games during the regular season and 6 points in 6 games during the playoffs, helping La Crete make it to the league finals.
He joins a Whitecourt Wolverines team the last season finished in first place in the AJHL’s North Division, but in the playoffs were swept in the league semi-final by the Grande Prairie Storm.
