STARS Air Ambulance has officially kicked off its fleet renewal capital campaign in Grande Prairie.
The organization is trying to replace the aging fleet of BK 117 and AW139 choppers with new medically equipped Airbuses for $13 million each.

With 9 new Helicopters set to be used across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba it is not known when Grande Prairie will be used as a home base for the first time.
The new fleet of choppers is expected to be ready for service no later than 2021.
