This Sunday people from all over the community are going to the 2018 Slush Cup at Misery Mountain to dress up in costumes and try to cross the slush pit without getting wet. President of the Misery Mountain Ski Hill Lynden Waites says the Slush Cup is a great way to bring the community together, and people of all ages are welcome.
“We’ve got food, and the bar will be open. It’s just a nice way to wind down the season,” says Waites.
Registration for the event starts at noon, and the event will begin around 2 o’ clock. Waites says people young and old test their luck, skill and bravery trying to cross the pit filled with cold, slushy water. The costumes you can expect to see range from Smurfs to super heroes.
“We had The Green Lantern one year, and he was pretty epic,” says Waites. “He managed to make it to the other side of the pit without wrecking the costume.”
Whether you’re interested in crossing the slush pit, or just taking photos and enjoying the event, Waites encourages everyone to join the community at Misery Mountain on Sunday.
