Yup a Canadian made film starring Jay Baruchel, Cary Elwes and Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) about the history of the BlackBerry line of mobile phones. The movie is based on the best selling Losing the Signal: The Untold Story Behind the Extraordinary Rise and Spectacular Fall of BlackBerry by Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff.

As someone who loved the Blackberry phones back in the day and was sad to see them decline, not only in popularity but failing to keep up with Apple, LG (when they made phones), Samsung and later Google. I only primarily know Jim Balsillie as the guy who tried to buy NHL teams and move them to Canada so this will be good to see.

It will be an interesting movie to get to watch, sadly it’s getting a limited release so you might only get to see it in theatres in a big city or hopefully it will be available for streaming soon. It is set to get the limited release this weekend.

The movie is getting rave reviews with a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes (as of this writing).
