Hey Jared Gomes here again, giving you the run down on where I went and what I did all last week. It was a different kind of week with all of the events happening in the middle instead of on the weekend. On Tuesday it was Indigenous day. There were a lot of amazing events happening all around our area and I started off the day here in Peace River.

They unveiled the new storyboards that are now on display. They had guest speakers come in and it was an amazing opening ceremony to the day. many events followed later but i had to start hitting the road to my next stop. If you want you can go take a look at these storyboards anytime. They are on display just across from the radio station.

before I left I also stopped by the library for tacos!

Then I hit the road to manning for their Indigenous day events. This was their second annual celebration and it was really great. They had a lot of activities, live music, and beef on a bun.

Inside the Tipi they had information for people that wanted to learn more about the different groups of people that live in our areas.

Then, on the following day, I was off to Northern Sunrise County for their Canada day celebrations.

They had so much fun stuff going on here. Everything from glitter tattoos to bouncy castles. The live band could be heard throughout the venue and there was even a storm trooper there guarding the castles. It was a lot of fun especially once the BBQ started going.

Volunteers were out serving popcorn and burgers. Tim Hortons was also there with their truck giving away donuts and beverages.

That was my cruiser week last week. A super fun time getting to travel to a bunch of awesome local events, would definitely do it again…oh wait I am, next week I’ll be at even more awesome events, and if you want to see me at any specific events, email me the info at cruiser@kix.fm or cruiser@rivercountry.fm
