Canadian actor Ryan Reynold’s has confirmed the rumored interest in purchasing the Ottawa Senators of the NHL. Ryan did say he would need a group of investors to do it, which he called “sugar mommy or sugar daddy.”
The Deadpool star appeared at the Senators game last night and received a standing ovation, which could be a sign of support for the star to buy the team or just of his celebrity. Ryan recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon talking about the subject while promoting the up and coming movie Spirited with Will Ferrell, it starts at approximately 3 minutes in.
Forbes has valued the Senators at $525 million last December, but might be sold for more than that. Should Reynolds not succeed in his bid to form a consortium to purchase the Senators, he has a backup plan.
“If that doesn’t work out, I’ll buy a U.S. senator, which anyone can afford,” he joked.
