This weekend on River Country Rising Stars the headliner was Josh Stumpf and his new single “Highway Money.” Josh who is from Prince Albert, SK had been played on the show a few times in the past thanks to songs of his like “Drink me A Lullaby” and “That Song In This Truck” but it had been quite some time since we had anything new from the rising star and that stemmed from him joining MDM Recordings. I had found out that information back in September and had to kinda keep it under wraps until the big announcement was made. As you would expect I asked him about that and the process for him.
“Highway Money” came from a song write with Jason Blaine and Dave Thompson, where Jason said the magical two words that would get the song heading in the right direction. The song is being added across the country very quickly and is getting major titles from major radio stations. Also it should be noted that Josh has been named our Supernova Artist of the Month with this song joining Chevy Beaulieu as the first 2 artist to be given this very prestigious honor.
