This Weekend on Rising Stars the headliner was the Chris Goodwin Band. They are from Prince George, BC and originally formed as a one off performance that just kept going. They are a high energy country band that started off just doing covers but have blossomed into creating their own unique songs like the headlining song this weekend “Rich Like Ryan Reynolds.” The band is set to release their self-titled debut EP on December 8th which will feature 6 tracks, 4 of which have been previously released and 2 brand new ones.
I spoke with Chris to find out about the band and of course their latest song “Rich Like Ryan Reynolds.” I learnt an interesting behind the scenes story about the making of the music video and how the clever song title came about and if they have heard anything from the famous Canadian about the song that bears his name.
