This weekend on Rising Stars the headliner is Alex Hughes. Alex is singer-songwriter from Calgary who in 2022 was up for the Horizon Female artists of the Year at the Country Music Alberta Awards. Alex’s new single “Until This Fire Dies,” as heard on the show is certainly a powerhouse performance as the emerging artist.
I had an amazing conversation with Alex about her start as well as her influences, which were wide in range and not exactly who you would expect to be named by an artist her generation. We also talked about the where the song came from, which like many songs you will hear these days was co-written by Aaron Pollock, not to mention having her height in her bio. We also talked briefly about Halloween movies.
