I absolutely love this movie. Each movie in the trilogy has improved upon the last and has now given us the best one yet.
This movie picks up after the second with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all living together with Donut Lord as one big happy family. Life couldn’t be better…until a new threat shows up. Shadow The Hedgehog.
This movie has some fun jokes, great action and an interesting premise although it will be familiar to fans of the franchise. There is a lot of fanservice for those who have played the games and being a fan of the series I loved it. I don’t feel like it detracts from them at all either if you haven’t experienced all the games.
Visually the movie is fantastic. After the awful original design of Sonic, they have been nailing each character they add to the franchise. The Casting is on point as well adding Keanu Reeves as shadow fits so well. It seems that each character has fun in their role. In interviews Keanu, along with the rest of the cast, just has a smile on their face talking about the characters.
Of course, the music is great as well. There are callbacks to familiar sonic tunes and even some music pulled directly from the games playing at pivotal moments. Which just pulls everything together.
There are 2 post-credits scenes so make sure you stick around if you see this in theatres. They do set up a 4th film and after seeing how they handled this one I am so excited for another. Check out the trailer below!
