The schedule of a host of the CCMA’s is jammed packed to begin with but MacKenzie Porter is adding to that schedule by headlining the Top of the Country Finale. Porter is already set perform as well as to co-host the awards on the Saturday night with Thomas Rhett. This will mark the 3rd straight year the host or a co-host of the awards will be the headliner for the Top of the Country finale with The Reklaws hosting and headlining last year, and Tenille Townes in 2022 in Calgary did the same.
The Top of the Country contest is put on by Sirius XM with the winner getting $25,000 and the runner ups getting $10,000 each. Robert Adam, Trudy and Zach McPhee all netted the coveted spots in the finale to compete for the prize beating out names like Tony Stevens and Jade Turner. Notable past winners of Top of the Country include Matt Lang (2019) and Tyler Joe Miller (2021), with the most recent winner being St. Albert’s Hailey Benedict who is up for the CCMA for Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and won a CCMA in 2022 for “Interactive Artist.”
The Top of the Country Finale is happening at 8pm MST in Edmonton on September 11th. Attending is FREE but is also an 18+ event.
