How Do You Read

Last week I was asking everybody on our Instagram how they prefer to experience a book. With recent technology, there are quite a few ways that we can get the full experience of reading without the typical paper in hand. Many people now have access to audiobooks and digital books and I guess if they so desired they could choose not to read any books at all.

My preference is physical paper books. Doesn’t matter whether they are hard to cover or not the tactile feel of an actual book in your hand is the best thing. With so much blue light on our screens every day it’s nice to rest your eyes and read a physical book. As for audiobooks, I don’t think they’re for me I prefer to read a book myself it’s easier to visualize what’s going on. But, let’s see what everyone else thought.

On KIX FM 83% said that physical books are the way to go followed by a tie at 8% for audiobooks and no books at all. So, we do have a small portion listening to audiobooks. which I can commend. I mean I do listen to podcasts that I do feel are similar…in some ways. As for those people that don’t read…what are you doing!

In River Country, again, the majority was 80% with physical books. this time it was followed by 20% digital books. Interesting. Although it is not my preferred way digital books can be really useful you are able to hold so many books on just a small device. It is much easier to take a full library of books with you wherever you go digitally which is kind of nice.

Overall turns out classic paper books have not gone out of style which I am super happy about. There is something super cool about having a collection of books on the shelf. A story that you can dive into any time by grabbing it and giving it a read. Super happy to find out that no one thinks that it’s going away anytime soon.

I like to ask a different question over on our Instagram story everyday I’m on.

You can answer today’s question here: on KIX FM or on RIVER COUNTRY
