Friday the 13th Prequel Show Coming Called “Crystal Lake”

fridaythe13th

A few years back an announced show for Peacock and A24 announced as a Friday the 13th series that would be called “Crystal Lake.” Well with the writers strike assisting with delays in the production alongside losing Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller who was set to develop the series. The show was believed to be dead in the water (pun intended) after Fuller’s departure but the series will have a full-season order that actually comes with penalties if a second season doesn’t come about.

Recently the show has casted it’s first notable name in Linda Cardellini, who is known for Freaks and Geeks when she was younger as well as the hit show Dead To Me, along side playing Velma in the live action Scooby Doo movies. Linda is scheduled to play Pamela Voorhees, the mother of Jason, a role turned down by Claire Danes and rumors had Charlize Theron being considered for the role. The only other casting came when the show was announced in Adrienne King, who played Alice Hardy in the original film and made an appearance in the opening title sequence of sequel in a recurring role on the series, no word on if that has changed over the past few years.

The show for season 1 is set to be in the immediate aftermath of the death of young Jason at Camp Crystal Lake.

No date for the release of the series is known at this time.
