When the CCMA Awards come to Edmonton this September they will be hosted by Thomas Rhett and MacKenzie Porter. Now they have announced the first round of performers for the biggest night in Canadian country music with the host performing as well.
Joining the hosts among the first round of performers includes some big Canadian names as well as an up and coming act from south of the border. Dallas Smith, Jade Eagleson, Brett Kissel, The Reklaws and Dasha.
These are pretty standard names for Canadian performers at the CCMA’s as they are all regulars to performing at the show, with in the past 5 award shows Dallas Smith and The Reklaws have also hosted the event.
The inclusion of Dasha was a surprise to be sure as the up and comer from California never crossed my mind. Though this will possibly bring in a young audience who will know her hit song “Austin” from TikTok.
I will be interested in seeing who the other performers are when they get announced as I personally am hoping for some up and comers to get to grace the stage at the big show and bring some new names to the masses.
