When the CCMA Awards come back to Edmonton in September for the first time since 2014, they will have a big name American joined by a Canadian as hosts. On September 14th the biggest Canadian country award show will be hosted by Thomas Rhett and MacKenzie Porter. Thomas Rhett is currently #1 on the River Country Top 30 with his hit song “Mamaw’s House” in which he is joined by alleged chair thrower Morgan Wallen. MacKenzie, who is originally from Medicine Hat, AB is rising up the charts here in Canada with her latest single “Bet You Break My Heart” and recently celebrated the birth of her first child.

This is a continued trend over the last number of years where they pair and American act with a Canadian one. Personally we have enough great talent in Canada where it be a country artist or comedian that we should be able to secure a full Canadian host team. That being said I think they will do great as a pair and am excited for September.
