Country superstar Blake Shelton has been a judge on NBC’s The Voice since it’s debut and a big reason for the shows success with his humor and quick wit always seemingly finding a rivalry to keep the show interesting. Whether the rivalry was with Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson or even Nick Jonas he managed to find someone to make comedic gold with that help the show to continue to have success and separate itself from other singing competition programs. The Voice has seen a steady rotation and changing judges over the last number of seasons with Shelton being the remaining constant. Shelton said in a social media post he wrestled with the decision and went on to thank the crew, artists, fans. Blake didn’t provide a specific reason for leaving the show other than it was time and that he would leave after the next season, spring 2023). While I have never been a regular watcher of the show I love to watch the audition clips mainly to see what antics Shelton would get up to including use of a puppy to win over artists. Blake was the winning judge 8 times through 21 completed seasons.

Chance the Rapper and former One Direction member Niall Horan are set to join as first-time coaches with Kelly Clarkson returning to round out the judges for Shelton’s final season in the spring.
