UPDATE (9 AM) – The Peace River School Division has sent out the following notice to parents.

We have been made aware of an implied threat on TikTok involving Glenmary School and T.A. Norris School. The RCMP have been notified and are currently investigating. At this time, they do not believe there is an imminent threat to student safety.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority. Earlier this year, we activated enhanced security measures at all of our schools, including controlled access to all entrances. All visitors are also now required to let office staff know who they are coming to see and the reason for their visit PRIOR to being granted access to the inside of the school building. Exterior doors remain secured throughout the school day.

School administration and staff are in close communication with the RCMP and are following all required safety protocols. Students are safe and learning continues as normal.

We understand this news is unsettling, and we want to assure you that we are taking this matter seriously. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
