This weekends headliner on the show was Michaela May and her new single “Faded.” Michaela is originally from Aberdeen, Scotland but has called Canada home for many years and has permanent residency. Michaela is the first Scottish born singer-songwriter to appear on Rising Stars and the second UK talent featured and to headline the show with Katy Hurt being the other.
Talking with Michaela we find out about how the Scottish talent came to Canada, her decision to stay as well as her experience with country music in the UK and how it changed when she came to live in North America. We also find out about her new single “Faded” and how it came to be and I feel it is one many will be able to relate to the meaning behind the jean metaphor.
