Tonight on the CCMA broadcast Cameron Whitcomb, who was born in Peace River, primarily raised though on Vancouver Island was up for 6 awards this past weekend and claimed 2 of them. Cameron was able to take home to nobodies surprise the Breakthrough Artist of the Year and an award that to many artists is the biggest award, the Fan’s Choice. Cameron was also performing on the broadcast concluding the show a backflip as well as did a skit earlier in the show with host Tom Green. It was a big night for the 22 year old originally from Peace River, who now may have a friendly rivalry going with Josh Ross who also took home 2 awards while being up for many. We will see who takes home next year in Saskatoon.
