
This weekend on Rising Stars the headliner was Travis Dolter and his fun new song “Hell of a Saturday Night.” Travis, hailing from Hay Lake, AB, is a former athlete turned country singer, which isn’t a stretch in the Canadian country music scene but that sport wasn’t hockey but rather soccer. Travis turned his ability to play the sport into a university education obtaining scholarships to play the play the sport. Also growing up he was apart of a family Ukrainian music band. These days when not playing shows or recording music he is out on the family farm.
The song “Hell of a Saturday Night” is a high tempo, high energy song that was inspired by Travis attending local dances, and wanting to give a fun song for the upcoming winter season that would keep people warm dancing to it. The song reportedly has a higher BPM (Beats Per Minute) than Lainey Wilson’s “Hang Tight Honey” which is saying something.
