A few days ago Miranda Lambert was playing her Vegas residency and while performing “Tin Man” some girls were taking selfies. This did not sit well with the country singer as she would stop singing and berate the girls for doing so.
Miranda Lambert would say I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry. These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit. Sorry, I don’t like it. At all.” She continued, “we’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”
While some applauded the singer, others were not to thrilled with her response and as she started the song over again, people could be seen in videos walking out of the performance.
The move has gotten mixed reactions online some praising the singer others calling her out for treating her fans that way.
Lambert hasn’t been shy of vocalizing her issues with fans behavior in the past, years ago, she kept a knife onstage to pop beach balls that came her way. Lambert isn’t the first nor will likely be the last to call out fans for taking videos and photos with their phones. The likes of Beyonce, Adele have publicly done it before. With Vegas residencies and smaller controlled environments a locked pouch is a basic and simple answer.
Bruno Mars and Silk Sonic required attendees to lock their phones in a Yondr pouch come showtime back in 2022 during the residency. Others like comedian Dave Chappelle and other artists have required the same thing from attendees, which could more and more become the norm.
Here are the reported photos that caused her to stop the show and reset:
If I were Lambert I would just be thankful they were taking photos with the phone and not throwing it at her like other singers have had happen to them recently. Which has become a disturbing trend by some concert goers.
