Covid-19 Update: June 9

On June 9, 2021 Alberta Health Services confirmed 313 additional cases of COVID-19 in the province.

There are currently 329 people in hospital with the virus and 83 are in ICU.

The total number of active cases in Alberta is 4,204.

For active cases in our area; there are 26 in Mackenzie County, 13 in the MD of Peace, five in Big Lakes County while all other surrounding counties and MD’s in our region have three active cases or less.

There is now a walk-in vaccination clinic in High Level at the Native Friendship Centre (10904 95 Street). The hours of operation are: June 10: 1 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. and June 11: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

67.2% of eligible people in the province have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 15.7% are fully vaccinated.

The percentage of people around the region receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is:

  • Falher area – 45%,
  • Peace River area – 41.5%,
  • Spirit River area – 39.6%,
  • Fairview area – 38.1%,
  • Manning area – 37.1%,
  • Valleyview area – 36.9%,
  • High Prairie area – 32.8%
  • High Level area (Mackenzie County) – 13.5%
