Warehouse One and Bootlegger has announced plans close its more than 120 stores across Canada, including Warehouse One locations in Peace River, High Level and La Crete.
The company says ongoing financial and operational challenges have impacted profitability and liquidity in recent years. It cites declining foot traffic and sales due to growing competition from low-cost retailers and online shopping options.
Warehouse One is now seeking court protection to allow for what it describes as an “orderly wind down” of operations.
According to a post from the Peace River store manager on the Warehouse One Peace River Facebook page, May 13 will be the final day customers can use gift cards. Liquidation sales are expected to begin May 15, with the stores targeted to close in June.
