Four people are facing multiple charges after a major drug and weapons bust in northern Alberta.
On May 5th, Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Valleyview executed search warrants at two homes in Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, with support from specialized units including the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services.
Officers seized firearms, including prohibited weapons, ammunition, along with 84 grams of cocaine and more than 200 grams of methamphetamine.
Four men—28-year-old Dorian Harvey, 42-year-old Francis Soto, 40-year-old Dexter Chowace, and 18-year-old Darcy Kappo—now face a range of charges, including drug trafficking, unauthorized firearm possession, and careless use of a firearm.
Police say additional charges stem from a separate May 1st investigation.
Three of the accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court May 7th, while one has been released with conditions and will appear later in the month.
RCMP are thanking the community for its assistance.
