Lee Brice Brought A Parking Lot Party To GP

Monday night Lee Brice brought his Sunrisers tour to the Bonnette’s Energy Centre in Grande Prairie and he didn’t come alone. Lee would bring Alberta’s Brett Kissel and emerging artist from Texas (residing in Nashville) Grace Tyler alongside him for the show.

Grace Tyler would be the first to perform, and I wasn’t sure what to expect as very little was known about her leading into the show. I was very entertained by the solo acoustic set, in which we the audience got to learn more about her and her music including that The Band Perry cut one of the songs she wrote. Grace is an artist that if presented and given the chance to grow will become a name more will be familiar with.

Next on the stage was non other than Brett Kissel who brought a lot of fun and action. Brett would perform songs from throughout his career that the crowd knew every word to. It was safe to say it felt like many in attendance were there for Brett just as much as for the headliner. Brett was impressive as always and gave the crowd everything they could’ve wanted out of the performance.

Now we got the man of the hour the headliner Lee Brice. This was the first time seeing Lee perform despite loving his music over the years and I would pay to see him again. Lee would kickoff the performance with “One of Them Girls”, which happens to be my favourite song of his before getting into “Parking Lot Party” then a newer one with “Sunriser.” Continuing to play hit after hit he would bring out Brett back to the stage to sing “Drinking Class” and later would bring out Grace to perform “Hope You’re Happy Know” to sing Carly Pearce’s part of the song. In the setlist was a cover from the Eli Young Band’s “Crazy Girl” which he wrote. Lee would bring fun and energy, maybe not as much energy as Brett, but plenty of it getting the crowd singing along and dancing to music he brought to them over the years.

This was a show you will wish you went to and wish you could relive again. There is clearly a reason Lee Brice’s career has been going for as long as it has, Brett continues to wow the crowds and Grace Tyler is a name to be on the watch for.
