Top 10 Canadian Country Songs of 2025

5l9feq
Well it is that time of year when I have backtracked over the amazing country music coming out of country for my Top 10 Canadian Country Songs of 2025. Another year where to narrow it down to 10 is hard and even for the honourable mentions is hard. Now when I make the list, the charts hold very little to weight in seeding or making the list, but just that these are songs that I personally found to be my top 10 of the year. The rules are that the song must be released as a single whether on streaming or to radio in 2025 which is why the list comes out right at the end of the year. It will only have one song per artist, some could have multiple on the list, but only right in my books to be one per artist.
Honourable Mentions (In No Particular Order)
  • Kelsi Mayne – “Someone Who Knows”
  • Jac Matthew – “Harder To Hold”
  • Delta Sweet – “Whiskey On You”
  • Sully Burrow – “Rally Around”
  • Kalsey Kulyk – “Till I Get To Heaven”

10. Catie St. Germain – “Good Girl Gone Bad Mom”
In at #10 is an artist that has had an amazing 2025 in Catie St. Germain, she had a couple great releases with “Good Girl Gone Bad Mom” and “Grow” as well as sang the national anthem at the Grey Cup. “Good Girl Gone Bad Mom” is a fun one I know parents, moms in particular can relate to when it comes to raising kids. It is a song that looks at the idea of a perfect mom and turns it on its head. If you don’t know the music of Catie St. Germain you should as she is one to keep an eye on in 2026.

9. Matt Lang – “Somethin’ Bout A Honky Tonk”
Matt Lang continues to put out great music and 2025 is no execption. Matt is an artist I believe should be bigger than he is and seems to be the one who kicked down the door for Quebec artists in the Canadian country music scene. By that I mean we didn’t hear much if anything out of Quebec until Matt winning the Top of the Country contest and we are seeing many begin to thrive outside of the province. “Somethin’ Bout A Honky Tonk” faced “Outta The Bar” for Matt’s single to be considered for the list and either could make it but you just gotta love the honky tonk sound and fun that Matt brings with this one.

8. Amanda Couture – “Red Lights”
Here is a song that I’m sure many will be surprised is on my list, not because of the quality of the song or anything like that, but thinking it would be my kinda jam. Well it is, and it is one that never left my head from the first listen. Amanda had 3 releases in 2025 but this fun one stood out to me. “Fun” seems to be a trend early in the list, but what can I say it is banger from the now mom of two and keeps me hyped for what is to come in 2026.

7. Morgan Griffiths – “Bourbon”
One of the biggest surprises of 2025 was the rise of the unknown Morgan Girffiths and his song “Bourbon.” “Bourbon” was everywhere in 2025, being a top 5 single at country radio in Canada an accomplishment for a true independent seemed impossible. Morgan hit the scene like a bullet and became one of the most played songs of the year on Canadian country radio period, being the most spun Canadian in the genre. It would be hard to leave a big tune like this off the list, and has people interested in his music and on everyones radars.

6. Josh Stumpf – “Highway Money”
Another artist that is on everyones radar these days is Josh Stumpf and “Highway Money” is a big reason why. The song would reach the top 10 for his debut under the MDM Recordings label and is seeing success with the follow up “Nobody Roads.” But since late April when it was released it has been in my head and refuses to leave. A banger from the Prince Albert talent that put him on the map and has everyone watching him heading into the new year.

5. JaimesonRhy – “Something More”
Well with “fun” being a trend this year, with JaimesonRhy you may have expected me to have “Huntin’ Season” or their brand new one “Bumpin’ Brims” on the list. I went with “Something More” as it does seem to be one that connects and is more relatable. The song is just beautiful coming from Jaimey Hamilton and Rhyley Bremner who pour themselves into the track. The song is about not being a second choice and wanting more from a relationship. This female duo is really beginning to make a name for themselves and is one to watch out for in the coming years as they grow their fan base.

4. Irvin Miller Band – “I’m Drunk Again”
Now here is a song that might be head scratching given the genre blending but you can definitely hear the country and blues in there along but Irvin Miller brings the funk for a standout debut single. The song is not traditional by any standard but most songs today in country aren’t and this one stands out with its alt vibes. We need a few more songs like this from artists, and while I don’t see it anytime soon it just means Irvin and the boys have that lane to themselves in country music in Canada.

3. Nate Haller x Tenille Townes – “Backfire”
A big hit sing this year came from Nate Haller and teaming up with Tenille Townes for it. Nate struck his first top 10 since his debut single with this one peaking at #3 and was the first time we heard music from Tenille since her split with Sony. This was yet another fun song that will be stuck in your head. The the title “Backfire” was inspired by the “give and take of a relationship” and “trying to get out of it.” It was a great way for Nate and Tenille to make a statement that they are still here and cranking out exciting music.

2. James Barker Band – “You Didn’t Hear It From Me”
It is hard to imagine a time or year where JBB isn’t putting out amazing music and this year they had two stellar songs, with “You Didn’t Hear It From Me” and “Somebody I Know.” Both songs could be on this list but I opted for this one as there is something relatable about it. James Barker framed it as “Don’t tell her I’m hurting, but also maybe do.” The lyrics certainly can strike with the listeners and done in a catchy way gets it the runner up spot this year.

1. Andrew Hyatt – “Between The Lines”
When it comes to the top spot looking back over the year it was seemed it would be an Andrew Hyatt song but which one, “Between The Lines” or “Bibles In Hotel Rooms” ? Well I opted for “Between The Lines” a song that has a rock edge to it that I tend to enjoy, especially with Hyatt and that it plays on mental health and addictions. While “Bibles In Hotel Rooms” plays on the times are a changing for better or worse theme, “Between The Lines” just is that song you can play on repeat and belt out if you see Hyatt live. In a year with a lot of stand out music, this one stood out the most to me.
