Back-to-Back Plot twists the movie.
I had heard from a few friends that these movies were good, but I had never actually seen them until recently. I watched the first two right before watching the third, and let me tell you, they are all great, but let’s really focus in on the third one. This is being released almost 10 years after the second film, meaning your main cast has aged. So, in this film, they recruit three new young magicians to help in their quest to take down an evil diamond overlord. If you have seen any films in the franchise before, you are familiar with what you’re in store for, and I feel like it delivers.
There are, of course, cool magic tricks, and they show you how they do them in the film, like previous entries. There are also some great action scenes and handcuff escapes. Alongside some big reveals, this movie had me on the edge of my seat because I didn’t know what twist was going to happen next, and I feel like this movie did them as well as the previous entries.
There are just a few issues I have, but nothing major. The French Interpol agent still hasn’t been brought back, and I feel like I wanted to see more of her since the first movie. And since there was such a big gap between this movie and the last one, quite a bit happens on screen, and you need to fill in some things yourself and infer a few things, but those aren’t too big of issues.
Overall, I think it’s more bombastic theatrics that were so fun to see on the big screen. I feel like it ties things together from the first two films, and it seems like they want to continue the franchise, especially now that they have some younger actors in there, so I can’t wait for another.
