This weekend on River Country Rising Stars the headliner was Walker Tompkins and his new song “Hold Your Horses.” Walker is a singer-songwriter and producer from Fort St. John who sadly doesn’t see a number of performance opportunities in part due to where he is on a map, versus being a place like Abbotsford or Vancouver or the Alberta equivalent of a Calgary or Edmonton.
I got to pick the brain of Walker about and recount some fun we had in Kelowna at that point in the trip including comparing him and Chevy Beaulieu to others in their respective rounds at the Blue Jay Sessions.
