This weekend on River Country Rising Stars the headliner was Jr Charron and his new single “Halo” !!! JR resides in the Winnipeg area but is from Binscarth, MB a place that is under an hour from where my family is from in Tantallon, SK and Esterhazy, SK. We discovered a fun connection that includes a wing night along with loving the rock vibes of Manitoba. In 2024, he scored FIVE Manitoba Country Music Award nominations, taking home one trophy, following his 2022 Fans Choice Award.
JR is an artist that usually infuses rock themes into his music but with “Halo” an R&B infused country track was born. We discussed the new track as well as how a rock fan got into country music and of course wing nights in Tantallon and more.
