Peace River’s MLA says no construction on a potential bridge at Tompkins Crossing will be done without proper consultation.

Dan Williams was on the Trending 55 Hot Seat and was asked about consultations with the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement.

“I have heard feedback from residents and I want to make it abundantly clear that I met with the Paddle Prairie Council, as I have many times, on March 22,” says Williams.

“I made it clear to them that any potential project going forward will have a vote from Paddle Prairie Council; they will have that say.”

Williams adds that there are no draft plans or engineering reports out at this time.

“We haven’t done the engineering reports yet, or crossings to show them options,” explains the UCP MLA.

“As soon as we have those concrete engineering plans to show them, of course those residents, more than anyone else, are going to have an opportunity to see those and I heard that loud and clear from council.”

Williams adds that he is committed to proper engagement.

We covered a wide range of topics within the riding with Williams, and you can hear the full discussion below.
