Viersen Talks About Priorities For 2023

Arnold Viersen says 2022 was a “little bit chaotic” as the Member of Parliament for Peace River-Westlock.

He says after coming out of COVID and the Conservative leadership race, this year will have “bigger and better things.”

“I’m looking forward to holding the Liberal government to account and continue to battle against the carbon tax. I hear from folks all the time around that. It also sounds there may be an election in the future as well.”

Viersen says one topic that will be a priority for him is the federal government plan for limiting fertilizer use.

“The Liberal government has a hair-brained scheme to force farmers to reduce their fertilizer use. All the farmers I know are generally trying to reduce their fertilizer use because fertilizer is very expensive, but if we reduce it too much our food production goes down. In a world where food is already very expensive, I don’t think we should make less food, I think we should make more food.”
