The results are in!

In the latest Trending 55 Newsroom’s Pool of the Week, we asked if you felt it was a good idea for the team formerly known as the Edmonton Eskimos to change its name or it should have been left alone.

Out of 366 respondents, 80 percent feel that the team should have kept the Eskimos name.

That comes out to 294 votes.

This week, we want to know what you think about a proposal by the province, which calls for oil and gas companies to receive a cut on their property taxes.

Municipal politicians, including the reeves of Northern Sunrise County and Birch Hills County spoke out against the perspective changes because it could result in millions of lost revenue.

Peace River MLA, Dan Williams said last week that the assessment model has not been updated since 2005 and attributes: low commodity prices, high operating expenses and “bad policy by the previous provincial NDP government and the federal Liberal government.”

Williams also said that, “we cannot tax our oil and gas companies to death.”

We want to know, do you think oil and gas companies need tax relief?
