Two face stolen property and tampering charges

Spirit River RCMP execute search warrant and seize stolen copper and property

Spirit River, Alta. – Since Sept. 2022, Spirit River have investigated a number of copper wire, construction equipment and vehicle thefts. As a result of the subsequent investigations, on Dec. 2, 2022, Spirit River RCMP with support from the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a rural property outside of Spirit River. Two individuals were arrested. As a result of the search, officers seized:

· Approx. $100,000 of scrap copper

· A stolen ide by Side ATV

· A stolen Pick-up

· A stolen Goose neck trailer

RCMP have charged Tyler Ray Davyduke (36), a resident Saddle Hills County with:

· Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x2)

· Tampering with vehicle identification number (x2)

· Fail to comply with court order

· Fail to comply with Probation order.

Davyduke was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released from custody with his next court date set form Jan. 9, 2023, at Grande Prairie Provincial Court.

RCMP have charged Katelynn Mary Burlock Gallagher (30), a resident of Saddle Hills County with:

· Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x2)

· Tampering with vehicle identification number (x2)

Gallagher was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released from custody with her next court date set for Jan. 9, 2023, at Grande Prairie Provincial Court.

“One or two repeat offenders can cause a major disruption to a community”, says Cpl. Adam Stokes Detachment Commander Spirit River RCMP, “by focusing our policing efforts on those who cause the greatest harm we can have a significant impact on the crime in our community.”
