The Town of Peace River is searching for artists/teams able to complete a mural in town during the summer of 2021, or in future years. The town has installed seven murals downtown since 2016 and are very popular and supported by the community.

Peace River wants to continue to improve the downtown aesthetic through art development. The town will be selecting artists and muralists of varied experience who can execute large or small projects, and wants to enhance the community through artist expression.

There is no specific theme for the mural, and the Town says they want to work with artists that can “enrich cultural landscape, support community building, and promote dialogue.” When picked, The mural artist/s will work with the Town and the building owner to determine and finalize specific mural subject matter and design.

To submit a portfolio to the town, it must include the following:

  • The Peace River Artist Portfolio Submission Form
  • A letter of interest
  • Current resume and references. If this is an artist team submission, resumes should be included for all participants. Artists working as a team must identify one person as the primary contact
  • Visual documentation of past works up to a maximum of 10 images (Preferably jpeg, pdf, or tiff format, and a minimum of 150 dpi) Please include a brief description of the works shown, including details of style, media, photo credit, date, size.
