Town of Peace River Releases Statement on Litigation and MA Petition

The Town of Peace River’s legal team is preparing a defense for the ongoing litigation they’re facing. In a statement released today, the Town acknowledged two law suits they’re up against involving the law suit with Can-West and Nor-Alta, and another law suit where TPR has been named as a third party. The Town says Council is open to resolving concerns of the parties without further court proceedings.

The Town of Peace River is also acknowledging the Municipal Affairs petition which has recently been filed. The Town says to date, neither the petitioners nor Municipal Affairs have provided the Town of Peace River with a copy of the petition statement, and assuming the petition is validated, the cost of the entire process will be charged back to the Town.
