The County of Northern Lights, Northern Sunrise County and Mackenzie County have selected their reeves and deputy reeves.

Every year, counties and municipal districts around Alberta have an organizational meeting to elect their reeves and deputies.

All three county leaders were acclaimed to their positions.

In Mackenzie County, Reeve Josh Knelsen and  Deputy Reeve, Walter Sarapuk have been acclaimed.

In the County of Northern Lights, Reeve Terry Ungarian retains the position he has held for the last four years, and Brenda Yasinski is back as deputy.

Yasinski has also been in the deputy’s chair for four years.

Long-time Northern Sunrise County Reeve, Carolyn Kolebaba will remain the head of council and Corinna Williams is back as deputy reeve.

All appointments are for a 12-month term.
