Sometimes you hear great music whether it’s here on the radio or a friend plays some for you and you just love it so much you want to have it. Or a band that you love comes out with a new album that you want. where/how are you buying this new music? That’s what I wanted to find out with yesterday’s Instagram question.
Is it vinyl, that everyone tells me is the best way to listen to music? Is it CDs, so that you can play it in your car or something like that, maybe cassettes, if you’re really old school, or digital?
Personally, I tend to have all my music digitally. It is just so much easier to store hundreds of songs all on a device in your pocket than needing a shelf or a big player for a disc or a cassette. Although I do enjoy the ease of digital media I am still a big advocate for physical media because that way you are actually able to have hold and keep your music purchase with you so I do own a couple CDs of my own.
Now for the verdict: The Best way to own music as voted on by you is, as it turns out, it’s not Vinyl it’s digital. Which in our modern era…yeah does check out.
In the river country, we had 75% of people say digital and 25% say CDs. So a lot of digital users out there. Whereas on KIX FM we had 56% digital 22% CD and 22% vinyl. Yes! I knew those vinyl people were out there and to you, I say that is awesome. If I had more money and or space to store all of that I would probably get some vinyl. They are legitimately really cool.
But it looks like we have reached a verdict that digital is the future even though physical has its place a lot of people are going into the digital space. But hey that works out because once you’re done listening to your digital music on your phone you can flip over to the KIX FM app or River Country APP and listen to us right there so hey there are some great perks!
