  1. High Prairie RCMP are looking for a missing person. 35 year-old Elora Auger was reported missing on Tuesday.
    Reports say she last spoke to her family on April 24.
  2. Alberta Wildfire is reporting the Fox Creek Fire from last year, is officially extinguished.
    Over 66,000 hectares of land were consumed in the blaze. Fox Creek had to be evacuated, some residents went to Valleyview, while most went to Whitecourt.
  3. The wildfire burning southwest of Fort McMurray is the only wildfire classified as out of control in Alberta, provincials announced in an update on Thursday morning.
    Officials say fire behaviour is expected to be subdued  in coming days with 20 to 80 mm of total precipitation in the forecast, but reminded residents the fire is still a threat.
  4. Town Council in Peace River has sent a letter to Premier Danielle Smith. The letter is in regards to Bill 20, the Municipal Affairs Amendment.
    Council is requesting the Government to rescind the legislation, citing concerns of authority.
  5. The Grande Prairie and District Catholic School Division put out a survey on whether to have St. Thomas More School in Fairview move from Grande Prairie to the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division.
    Results say that 67% of staff want to stay in Grande Prairie, while 84% of St. Thomas More families would consider working with the Holy Family Division.
  6. Meetings are being requested by the Youth Assessment Center in High Prairie to the Provincial Government.
    The Center has been closed since November because of a fire.
  7. The Mighty Peace Basketball League plays this weekend. Games are on Sunday at Mile Zero in Grimshaw.
  8. NHL Playoffs tonight… Game 6 Florida is in Boston, the Panthers lead 3-2. Game 6 Dallas is in Colorado, the Stars lead 3-2.
  9. The Toronto Blue Jays start a weekend series at home to Tampa Bay tonight. Chris Bassitt starts for the Jays against Tyler Alexander.
  10. World number one Scottie Scheffler was arrested and charged with the assault of a police officer before being released.
    He was released in time to start his second round at the PGA Championship on Friday.
  11. It could be a wet weekend in the Peace and Big Lakes, and cool with temps only hitting between 10 and 15 degrees.
    In the Mackenzie, you’ll see the sun on a more frequent basis, but numbers will still be cool throughout.
