  1. Officials in the Peace Region are asking everyone again to stay off the waterways, which includes the Peace River.
    With the warm temperatures, it is said the ice is in a dangerous state, and the risk of falling through and getting swept under the ice is very high.
  2. Slave Lake RCMP have an Edmonton man in custody on B&E charges.
    23 year-old Dillon John Duffy, wanted also on outstanding warrants, was arrested. He’s due in court this morning.
  3. The Peace Region Mental Health and Addictions board has been tasked in dealing with the homelessness issue, specifically in Peace River.
    Councillor Marc Boychuk, who chairs the committee, says progress is being made. (Interview on App)
  4. The Provincial Government is creating two new organizations overseeing the development of the mental health and addiction system of care.
    Mental Health and Addictions Minister Dan Williams says the support of recovery-oriented services will further cement Alberta as a leader in the health-care field.
  5. Residents in Northern Sunrise County will be finding out what’s going on. The County’s annual residents meeting takes place tonight, 6:30 at the Harmon Valley Hall.

  6. Tonight is the night that the North Peace Navigators return to action as the Junior B Provincials get underway.
    While they’ve had a lot of practices over the past few weeks, Navs head coach Jody Menssa says it will different getting back to game action. (Interview on App)
  7. The Junior B Provincial Hockey Championships are underway in Peace River.
    Games today: (1:00) Okotoks and St. Albert, (4:30) Wainwright and Calgary, (8:00) North Peace and La Crete.
  8. Five games in the NHL tonight… Edmonton is in Dallas, Vancouver is in Arizona, Tampa Bay is in Toronto, New Jersey is at the Rangers, and Seattle’s in LA.
  9. The Toronto Blue Jays play the rubber-match of their three-game set in Houston tonight. Chris Bassitt starts for the Jays against Christian Javier.
  10. A snowfall warning is in effect for the Mackenzie with 10-20 cm expected, before it stops tonight.
    Rain mixed with snow, and the winds picking up is in the Big Lakes.
    Mostly sunny skies are expected in the Peace. Highs are in the single digits today, and will be around -8 tonight.
