Summer Cruiser July 30 & August 2: Boats, Bulls, and a Parade!

Whoa Boy! did a lot happen during this week of cruising. It all started with the gold cup jet boat races!

It was an awesome day! The boats were speeding up and down the Peace River leaving many waves as they zoomed by. The audience brought lawn chairs and picnic blankets and were hanging out on the hill it was a really fun time.

Then I drove down to High Prairie to get ready for the High Prairie Elks Pro Rodeo. I was set to be in the parade and before I went I wanted to make sure that the Cruiser was looking its best. I gave it a good wash so it was all set for what was yet to come.

Now that the Cruiser was nice and cleaned up I was ready to take it into the parade. I had to be there an hour early to get ready which I thought was way too much time but after I got there I realized why. There were parade floats everywhere trying to get organized and since it was the first time trying this new parade route a lot of people were figuring things out. It was super fun getting to drive the cruiser in the parade I got to blast KIX FM up and down the streets as I waved to everybody!

After the wonderful parade, I hung out at Marigold Enterprises for their BBQ and farmers market! There are always delicious goodies to be found here. I tried some Oreo rice crispy squares and you know what? When you combine two great things, It is bound to be amazing! They also had vendors selling fresh produce, pies, doughnuts and oh so much more! it’s always worth stopping by when you get the chance!

Once the BBQ wrapped up I drove down to the Grounds for the Elks Pro Rodeo! I was able to get set up right at the main gates to hand out free stuff. I was also able to get an interview with some of the bull riders. It was really cool to be under the grandstands where all the riders were setting up! The Events were so fun to watch. I showed up at the perfect time because I got to watch the calf scramble and the wild cow milking!

No Rodeo is complete without rodeo clowns! They were causing plenty of mayhem and giving everyone a good laugh.

Next to the Rodeo grounds, the Midway was also going on. The screams from people riding the zipper could be heard far and wide. It was really fun going on the rides. What I didn’t realize, since this has been the first one in a while, is that the lines were so much longer than I was expecting. Despite that, the midway is always a blast. Especially all the tasty food like deep-fried apple fries!? honestly, pretty tasty!

So, that was my cruiser week last week. A super fun time heading Everywhere and I can’t wait to do it again…oh wait I am, next week I’ll be at even more awesome events, and if you want to see me at any specific events, email me the info at cruiser@kix.fm or cruiser@rivercountry.fm
