Streetlight debate in Town of Manning

The streetlights in Manning are up for making a financial decision.

Manning Town Council is debating on what to do as ATCO will be switching all HSP bulbs over to LED come next January.

The municipality will be charged $700 per light to be switched over to LED on their non-invested lamps come January 2023… or they can sell all 86 of their streetlamps to the company for just under $85,000 and not incur any costs for switching over.

If the streetlamps were to be sold, distribution fees for the town would increase over $15,000 per year.

Council held back on a decision in their most recent meeting on March 9, tabling it to the next and inviting an ATCO rep to answer any questions.
