The Town of High Level has advised residents in the light of a singular case of COVID-19 being confirmed for the area of High Level, an area which includes all of Mackenzie County plus Paddle Prairie, that there shouldn’t be any panic among residents.
The town states that being calm and following guidelines put out by Alberta Health Services is imperative.
The town encourages that for all who experience cold or flu-like symptoms, that they stay at home. Those under quarantine are not to get groceries, gas, or generally go out into public.
“Not only would you be breaking a public health order to quarantine, but you would also be breaking the law. The Provincial Government has instituted stiff penalties for anyone caught breaking quarantine.” Stated the town in an email to the Trending 55 Newsroom.
The town states they’ll need help from residents in order to make sure there’s an adequate amount of resources for everyone to share, so they ask residents to use caution for the sake of friends, family, and the community they live in.
“Let us all come together the way High Level residents can in an emergency – with calm minds, stout hearts, and strong wills.”
