Second Reading of Utility Rate Bylaw Passed…

The town of Peace River is proposing to increase utility rates.

Second reading of the bylaw has passed, with the third reading expected in two weeks.

The proposal calls for a 5% increase to rates, or $7 per month more on residential bills, based on consumption.

The town states the increase is because of inflation.
