RCMP Looking For Witnesses To Hit And Run Investigation

Valleyview RCMP are continuing to investigate a hit and run that happened on Highway 43 last month.

Back on October 10, a pedestrian was struck in the westbound lanes of the highway about 2 kilometres west of Range Road 230.

The victim, a 20 year-old female, was discovered in the ditch by passersby. The collision occurred between the hours of 5:00 – 7:30 a.m.

The 25-year-old female of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation who was injured as a result of this hit and run collision remains in hospital in critical condition.

RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating witnesses who may have seen the collision or a female walking on Highway 43 near Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation between the hours of 5 a.m., and 7:30 a.m., on Oct. 9, 2021.
