on-strike

They’ve been without a contract for two years, and are striking at a key time.

Around 150,000 employees of the Public Service Alliance of Canada in the Peace Region are on strike.

One of the key areas being affected is services at tax time, which are due this week.

Wages, and keeping up with inflation are the issues of the job action.

Joshua Calkins is the president of the local union, which represents the Peace Region.

He discusses the action, the effects, especially during tax season, and the services deemed essential, and non-essential.
