Provincial Support Available For Live Events Sector

The Province has more financial support available to help the live events sector.

Culture Minister Leela Aheer says they’ve invested $13 million in the Stabilize Program to help non-profit arts and culture organizations recover from the pandemic.

“One part that we’re super excited about is the stabilizing donation matching. It’s amazing to see when we’re able to leverage hard earned taxpayer dollars and have matching donations come in for those organizations. It really elevates the organizations and elevates the private sector coming in to help us out.”

Aheer was on the Trending 55 Hot Seat and says several non-profit groups are eligible for grant funding through the Stabilize Program’s Adapt and Innovate stream.

“We’re hoping that the smaller organizations with operational budgets of less than $1.5 million will really apply to this because they’re the ones that have been hit the hardest. We’re going to make every effort that we can to distribute funding to organizations in regions right across the province.”

Aheer says the eligibility includes non-profits that organize arts, cultural, festival or sporting live experience events.
